Plaques, Crests & Coat of Arms
Having been in the signage game for decades, we’ve secured ourselves the exclusive right to supply plaques, crests, and coat of arms to the New Zealand Government and Defence Forces nationwide. Many of the casting patterns were created by master carvers over 50 years ago, and are still used by us today to create castings in a range of materials, including:
After casting, the plaques, crests, and coat of arms are cleaned up in our metal shop and finished depending on our clients’ needs. Finishing often includes detailed hand painting, and then casts are fired in our Lowbake oven to set the lacquer and provide a durable barrier from environmental damage.
Additionally, crests and coat of arms can be laser cut or sandblasted onto a number flat surfaces, creating a more contemporary take on traditional casting. The NZ embassy in The Hague, The Netherlands, for example, have chosen to sport laser etched high polished stainless steel signs, whereas the NZ High Court adopted the traditional, high polished aluminium NZ crest.
